For most of my adult years, I spent the first week of July working with youth entrepreneurs-to-be. Teens, generally derided by older generations as slackers, willingly and enthusiastically participate in summer programs to challenge themselves.

According to a recent Gallup Poll, 4 out of 5 college students believe it is very important to have a job that aligns directly with their purpose.

As we frequently discuss at BIZNOVATOR, the technology landscape and global economy are being transformed faster than at any point in our history. While this massive change can be very unsettling for many, we believe it represents massive opportunity.

Throughout our series we have discussed the various ways to prepare our high schoolers for the many opportunities ahead in their young lives. Now it is time to focus on the impact that we can make as parents in the direction and trajectory of our children.

In this series of 4 blogs, I’ll be sharing some of my observations and findings from decades of experience, working with teenagers. The scope of this series will be to provide key suggestions to help remedy the crisis we’re facing in schools today.
